SUMMARY

Exchange 2000 custom gateway objects must have an object class that is a subclass of the mailGateway class.

MORE INFORMATION

The installation of your Exchange 2000 gateway requires extension of the Active Directory schema. This schema extension must include a new custom class that subclasses the mailGateway class. Exchange 2000 gateways objects that are not subclasses of the mailGateway class will not be supported by Microsoft Product Support Services.

The Exchange 2000 sample gateway includes Samplegw.ldf, which is used to extend the schema. See Exchange Software Development Kit (SDK) 1.3 Help for further information on its use.
