TV Photo Viewer: Error Message: The File Format Is Unsupported by This Application, or the Picture File May Be Corrupted (298662)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to add a picture to an album in Microsoft TV Photo Viewer, you may receive the following error message:
The File Format is unsupported by this application, or the picture file may be corrupted.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • The file was created in Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 version 2.

    -and-
  • The file has an extension of .mix.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, resave the image to a different file format in PhotoDraw 2000.

MORE INFORMATION

The MIX format in PhotoDraw 2000 version 2 is not compatible with TV Photo Viewer. The following file formats are compatible with TV Photo Viewer:

JPEG
GIF
BMP
TIF
