Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 Users Are Redirected to "No Cookie" Form Even Though Cookies Are Enabled (297990)

SYMPTOMS

When using Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1) to access a Commerce Server 2000 site, the user may be redirected to the Active Server Pages (ASP) page that is specified in the s_NoCookie_Form (the "No Cookie" form in the Global Authentication resource for the site in the Commerce Server Manager user interface).

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you enable AuthFilter on the site and the Set cookie path to application check box is not selected. When this check box is cleared, the root (/) is set as the path property for the cookies. Internet Explorer 4.0 SP1 only sends back cookies when the path from the URL matches the path of the cookie.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, upgrade to Internet Explorer 4.0 Service Pack 2 or later. You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer from the following Microsoft Web site:

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, do not clear the Set cookie path to application check box in Commerce Server 2000.
