FIX: BTConfigAssistant Saves XML Configuration Data as VBScript (297675)

SYMPTOMS

When you view the XML Representation window from the BTConfigAssistant SDK sample, and choose to save the data from the XML tab, it may save it as Microsoft Visual Basic Script data instead of XML data.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Service Pack 1.

Steps to reproduce this problem:
  1. Launch BTConfAssistant.exe
  2. Select the View menu, then Entire Configuration
  3. Click VBScript tab
  4. Click Save File button to save it
  5. Click XML tab
  6. Click Save File button to save it
At step 6, the saved .xml file contains VBScript (same as the one we get at step 4).

EXPECTED RESULT:

That all saves from the XML tab generate XML output.

NOTE: To generate XML output, make sure that the initial save is done from the XML tab when viewing the item or items to be saved.
