Netlogon Service Does Not Start and Events 5737 and 7024 Occur After You Install Aventail Connect (297524)

SYMPTOMS

After you install Aventail Connect version 3.01S on a computer that runs Windows 2000 Professional or Windows 2000 Server, the Netlogon service may not start, and Event Viewer may record the following error messages:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: NETLOGON
Event ID: 5737
Description:
The system returned the following unexpected error code:
The parameter is incorrect.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event ID: 7024
Description:
The Net Logon service terminated with service-specific error 5737.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, upgrade to a version of Aventail Connect that Windows 2000 supports. Contact Aventail for information about obtaining an upgrade.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, remove the Aventail Connect 3.01S program from the computer.
