XCCC: Outlook Web Access Find Names Script Error When User Alias or SMTP Address Contains Apostrophe (297023)

When you use the Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) Find Names feature to find a user whose alias or SMTP address contains an
apostrophe ('), and you click the alias to select it
for the To, Cc, or Bcc line, the following script error is generated:

CAUSE
A script error occurs when a user has an apostrophe (') in the SMTP address. The apostrophe causes the XML DOM call to fail.
RESOLUTION
Obtain and install Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1).
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server SP1.
