Only one icon appears in Taskbar when Windows in Taskbar is selected in Excel 2002 and PowerPoint 2002 (296446)

This article was previously published under Q296446 SYMPTOMS When you have multiple documents open in any of the
programs listed at the beginning of this article, only one icon for the program
appears in the taskbar, even though the Windows in Taskbar option in the Options dialog box is selected. (On the Tools menu, click Options. On the View tab, select or clear the Windows in Taskbar check box.) CAUSE This problem occurs if both of the following conditions are
true:
- Your computer is running Microsoft Windows NT 4.0.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01, SP-1 (or SP-2) with the
Windows Desktop Update was not installed on your computer before you installed
Office.
NOTE: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 does not install the Windows
Desktop Update. For more information, please see the Internet Explorer 5 Ie.txt
file.
RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, install the Windows Desktop
Update. For additional information about installing the Windows
