SYMPTOMS

When you try to send a message in Outlook Express 5.01 by using a Microsoft Windows 95 connection to MSN, you may receive one of the following error messages:
MSIMN caused a stack fault in module UNKNOWN at 0000:7e2f427b
or
The message could not be sent. An error has occurred.
You may also have messages that are stuck in the Outbox.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, rename the Outbox.dbx file:
  1. Quit Outlook Express.
  2. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files and Folders.
  3. Type Outbox.dbx, and then click Find Now.
  4. Right-click the file, and then click Rename.
  5. Change the file name to Outbox.xxx.
  6. Restart Outlook Express.
