Bridge Interface Displays Network Speed of 400 Megabits or Faster (294857)

The speed for a network bridge displays 400 megabits (or higher) when the highest network adapter connection may be lower than that.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Network Configuration Wizard creates a bridge to which all network adapters belong by default. The speed that the bridge reports is always the highest speed of any bridged adapter.
If you create a bridge with an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 1394 adapter that is capable of IP transmissions, or any other adapter that has a speed that is lower than 400 megabits, the bridge connection will report its speed as 400 megabits. If the highest-speed adapter is a Fast Ethernet card, it will only display a speed of 100 megabits. The same rules apply if you create a bridge manually.
