OL2001: The Imported Digital ID Name Does Not Match the Exported ID Name (294640)

SYMPTOMS

If you export a digital certificate from Microsoft Outlook for Windows and then import the certificate to Outlook 2001 for Mac, an incorrect digital ID name appears.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because you exported your digital certificate by using a file type other than the .epf file format that is supported for Microsoft Exchange Server messaging.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, only use the .epf file format to transfer a digital certificate file from one computer to another. The .epf file format retains the correct information in a cross-platform Outlook environment.
