OL2001: There Is Not an Option to Add a Public Folder to Favorites (294608)

SYMPTOMS

The Add Public Folder to Public Folder Favorites option is missing from the File menu in the Find Public Folder dialog box in Outlook 2001 for the Mac. This option was available in Microsoft Outlook for Mac 8.2.2 under the Find Public Folder dialog box.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, either add the located folder to your Public Folder Favorites or add the folder to the Outlook Bar.

Use the following steps to add a folder to your Public Folder Favorites:
  1. In the Outlook Folder List, click the down arrow at Public Folders. The Favorites folder is viewed at the first level.
  2. Click the folder to be added to your Public Folder Favorites, and then drag it to the Favorites folder.
To remove the folder from your Favorites folder, click Folder on the File menu, click Delete Folder, and then click Yes.

Use the following steps to add a folder to the Outlook Bar:
  1. Click the folder to be added to the Outlook Bar.
  2. Drag the folder to the Outlook Bar.
  3. When the pointer is positioned in the desired location on the Outlook Bar, release your mouse.
To remove the folder from the Outlook Bar, press the CTRL key, click the folder, and then click Remove from Outlook Bar.
