This article was previously published under Q294516 SYMPTOMS
The RasSetEntryProperties function may not clear the RASEO_IPHeaderCompression flag. This problem occurs when a program that was built by using the the older Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 RASENTRY structure is run on a Windows 2000-based computer.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the phone book entry is built based on the Windows NT 4.0 version of the RASENTRY structure and may not contain the Type field. When the Routing and Remote Access feature in Windows 2000 converts the phone book entry to the Windows 2000 version, it places "0" in the Type field. The valid types are 1 through 4. Because the type is invalid, default flags are used.
