Visio2002: Visio Drawing of Mapped Web Site Unexpectedly Contains Only a Single Link (294041)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional

This article was previously published under Q294041

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to map a Web site that contains the following Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) tag

<meta http-equiv="refresh"...>

the Microsoft Visio drawing that is created contains only one link, instead of the many links and objects that you expect.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Visio does not parse the META refresh tag, which is used in the header or the body of the HTML code on the Web site.

RESOLUTION

To generate the site map, use the Universal Resource Locator (URL) of the page that the browser is redirected to by the META refresh tag.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
