Visio2002: Redo Line Properties Command Does Not Restore the Line Pattern (293914)

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Redo Line Properties command on the Edit menu (or press CTRL+Y), the Redo Line Properties command does not restore the line pattern.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you use the Redo Line Properties command immediately you use the Undo Line Properties command to restore a line pattern from the Custom Line Patterns stencil.

For example, the issue can occur if you do the following:
  1. You open the Custom Line Patterns stencil. (To open the Custom Line Patterns stencil, point to Stencils on the File menu, point to Visio Extras, and then click Custom Line Patterns.)
  2. You format a line using a custom line pattern from the Custom Line Patterns stencil.
  3. On the Edit menu, you click Undo Line Properties.
  4. On the Edit menu, you click Redo Line Properties.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, reapply the line pattern. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Select the line that you want to reformat.
  2. On the Format menu, click Line.
  3. In the Pattern list, select the pattern that you want to use.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
