Error Message Occurs When You Push a Large Number of Messages Using the HTTP Connector (293777)

SYMPTOMS

When you push a large number of message from a Mobile Information Server Enterprise Edition computer to a Mobile Information Server Carrier Edition computer by using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Connector, the following message may logged repeatedly in the Application event log of the Mobile Information Server Enterprise Edition computer:

Date: 2/27/2001
Time: 8:45:47 PM

Computer: ALM
Description:
HTTP Connector cannot establish a connection to the remote host. Please check to make sure that it is the correct host name, and that the server is up and running.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if there is a high rate of connections that are attempted from the Mobile Information Server Enterprise Edition computer to the Mobile Information Server Carrier Edition computer. When the maximum number of available Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) sockets are in use, the message that is described in the preceding section is logged.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

This message can be safely ignored. All messages are successfully delivered to the Mobile Information Server Carrier Edition computer even if the message is logged. After the message is logged, when a socket is available for connection, the message is delivered.
