This article was previously published under Q293570

SYMPTOMS

When you send a color presentation to Microsoft Word, and the presentation is in Black and White or Grayscale view, the slide images in Word appear in color.

In earlier versions of PowerPoint, slides sent to Word in Grayscale view appear in black and white.

WORKAROUND

Change the color scheme of your presentation to grayscale before you send the presentation to Word. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Format menu, click Slide Design.
  2. In the Slide Design task pane, click Color Schemes.
  3. Click Edit Color Schemes.
  4. Under Scheme colors, click Background, and then click Change Color.
  5. Click to select an appropriate shade of gray for the background, and then click OK.
  6. Repeat steps 4-5 for the other scheme colors, until the preview represents the proper grayscale appearance. Then, click Apply.
If you use the same design frequently, you may want to save the converted grayscale scheme in a template for future use. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, click Save As.
  2. In the Save as type list, click Design Template.
  3. In the File name box, type a file name, and then click Save.
