Cannot Save Radio Presets in Windows Media Player for Windows XP (293433)

SYMPTOMS

When you add a radio station to the Radio Preset list in Windows Media Player for Windows XP, and then you close Windows Media Player, those stations are not saved.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because you have set Microsoft Internet Explorer to not receive cookies.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, set Internet Explorer to accept cookies:
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. On the Privacy tab, move the slider bar under Privacy Preferences to Medium or Low.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
