OL2002: Error Message Appears While You Are Replying to a Message in Outlook 2002 (293045)

SYMPTOMS

When you reply to a message, the following error message may appear:
This form requires Word as your e-mail editor, but Word is either busy or cannot be found. The form will be opened in the Outlook editor instead.
This behavior occurs after you install Microsoft Office XP and use Outlook to reply to a message for the first time, or when the e-mail message contains a signature marquee.

WORKAROUND

To work around the behavior, click OK to the error message. When the Outlook editor appears, you can reply successfully. However, the envelope information is not automatically inserted in the new header, and you may have to retype it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
