Required Properties Not Enforced During Bulk Check-in (291882)

When you check in multiple documents in a folder, you are not prompted to enter values that are required for the properties on the profile form.
CAUSE
This behavior is by design. When you check in multiple documents, the profile form is displayed in bulk edit mode. All properties on the form are blank. SharePoint Portal Server applies the value for any property that you fill in to all the documents that you are checking in. Properties that you do not enter a value for are not changed on the documents.
It would not be possible to enforce the required value for properties in bulk edit mode because the user who is checking in the documents would be forced to apply one value for the property to all documents.

When you have added documents to the workspace, or when you have completed work on documents that you have checked out, you must check them in to enable other folder users to view the latest version of those documents.
When you use Web folders, if you want to perform publishing operations on multiple documents (bulk edit mode), right-click a group of documents, and then click an operation. Although all operations look as if they are available in bulk edit mode, changes are only applied if the operation is allowed for the document. You cannot use any operations in the Properties dialog box when you work in bulk edit mode. In addition, bulk edit operations are not available when you use the portal or a Microsoft Office program to manage documents.
