SUMMARY

This article describes new features that are included in Microsoft Exchange Conferencing Server Service Pack 1 (SP1). There are separate installations for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Exchange Conferencing Server SP1. Microsoft recommends that you install Exchange 2000 SP1; however, it is not required before you install Exchange Conferencing Server SP1.

Exchange Conferencing Server SP1 includes:
  1. A new interface for scheduling conferences called Web Scheduler. Web Scheduler enables non-Outlook 2000 users to schedule public and private conferences by directly booking conferencing resources.   2. Conference Management Service (CMS) auto failover functionality. Administrators are now able to assign a backup CMS that automatically takes over the operations when the primary CMS is unavailable.
  3. Improved, faster Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) auto failover with notification that includes an option to rejoin the conference for the users who are disconnected from the conference.
  4. Site restrictions on the resource. This feature enables administrators to restrict conference participation to specific sites, depending on the conferencing resource.
