FP2000: Some Pages in Folder List Do Not Display Blue FrontPage Icon (290768)

SYMPTOMS

The icons for some .htm, .html, and .asp pages in the Folder List view do not display the small FrontPage icon.

NOTE: This icon resembles a small blue FrontPage symbol on the upper-left side of the page's icon.)

CAUSE

This behavior helps to identify the program in which the document was created:
  • If the document was created with FrontPage, the small blue icon is present.
  • If the document was created with a program other than FrontPage, the small blue icon is not present.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
  1. Open the affected page in FrontPage 2000.
  2. Switch to HTML view.
  3. Add the following HTML code in the <HEAD></HEAD> section of the document:
    <meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 4.0">
    <meta name="ProgID" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">
    					
  4. Save this page and refresh the Web, if necessary. The FrontPage icon will appear.
