The information in this article applies to:

  • Encarta Class Server

This article was previously published under Q290719

SYMPTOMS

In Encarta Class Server, if you use the Admin program to delete and readd a teacher, the following error message appears:
Error 0x70005: Access Denied.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the local profile has not been updated. Even though you may have specified the same username and password when readding the teacher, the teacher is assigned a new identifier in the database.

RESOLUTION

Delete and then readd the local profile for the teacher. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open the Teacher Client and then click Settings.
  2. Click Remove User Profile. Click Next.
  3. Select the user and then click Next.
  4. Click Finish. This will delete the user profile.
  5. If that was the only user profile on the system, you will be prompted to run the Configuration Wizard. If not, click Settings.
  6. Click Create a user profile and then click Next.
  7. Select the appropriate school and click Next.
  8. Type the correct username and password and click Next.
  9. Choose the appropriate access method and then click Finish.
The Teacher should now be able to log on and resynchronize with the server.
