Embedded charts that contain text boxes in Excel 2000 do not behave as expected after they are edited in PowerPoint 2000 and in PowerPoint 2002 (290570)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, when you open and close a Microsoft Excel 2000 embedded chart that contains text boxes, you may experience any of the following symptoms:
  • The text boxes may disappear.

    -or-

  • The text boxes appear truncated.

    -or-

  • The font properties may change.
This behavior occurs if your display resolution is set to 1024 by 768 or lower.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3).
