Error Message Occurs When You Create a New Carrier on Mobile Information Server (290405)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Mobile Information Server System Manager to create a new wireless carrier (in either Simple Mail Transfer Protocol [SMTP] or Hypertext Transfer Protocol [HTTP]), you may receive the following error message when you click OK to save the settings:
An unexpected error prevented the creation of new carrier settings. Verify that the user has sufficient permissions within the domain and that adequate memory is available for the operation.

CAUSE

In addition to the reasons that are described in the error message, this error message can occur if the domain controller that the System Manager is attempting to write to is offline.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, verify that there is a domain controller on the network that can be contacted by the computer that is running the System Manager.
