XGEN: Command Line Migration Unsuccessful If Store Is Not Specified When There Are Multiple Stores (290397)

SYMPTOMS

If you run the Exchange 2000 Migration Wizard from a command line with the "Migrate from Microsoft Exchange 5.5..." command, migration is not successful. This problem occurs if the store is not specified when there is more then one store on the target server. The following event ID message is logged in the target server's Application event log:

Description: Invalid Server specified or you do not have the permissions required to complete the operation.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, use the "ExchStoreDN" parameter in the control file when you migrate to an Exchange 2000 server with more than one private information store.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
