SYMPTOMS

If you receive notifications from Mobile Information 2001 Server, you may receive duplicate notification messages to your device.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the first notification message had been sent while the Short Message Service connector service, which runs on Mobile Information Server, had stopped working.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, disregard the duplicate message.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
