SYMPTOMS

When you are using a Turkish locale and you run the Commerce Server 2000 Setup program, the following error messages occur:
Status: Creating the Predictor global resource Commerce Server 2000 WARNING: A failure occurred in CA_PRED_InstantiateResource() on D:\cs40\Private\cs40\setup\ca_dll\predictor.cpp:50. The error code is -2146825023, and the description is:

Status: Creating the Direct Mailer global resource Commerce Server 2000 WARNING: A failure occurred in CA_DML_InstantiateResource() on D:\cs40\Private\cs40\setup\ca_dll\dml.cpp:156. The error code is -2146825023, and the description is:
After these errors occur, the installation continues and completes. However, the Admin database is not initialized properly.

CAUSE

Commerce Server does not work on servers when you use the Turkish locale.

WORKAROUND

To use the Turkish locale on a Commerce Server 2000 system, switch the locale to English (USA) before running the Setup program. Setup will then run correctly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Commerce Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 1.
