SUMMARY

The enrollment message sent by a Microsoft Exchange Server does not include information regarding setup instructions for Outlook 2001 for Mac. This article explains the steps that are needed to change an enrollment message with Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 to accommodate Outlook 2001 for Mac.

MORE INFORMATION

If you choose to distribute enrollment tokens to users with messages, Key Management Server (KMS) sends a default message. You can customize this default message to send instructions or general security information specific to your organization.

NOTE: The default message includes %TOKEN%, which is a placeholder for the actual token that is sent to the enrolling user. You can remove the placeholder so that the actual token is not sent in the message (it is received from an administrator). Without the token, you can use the message to deliver customized information to enrolling users. This information can include any special notices or instructions specific to your organization that you may want Advanced Security users to have.

How to Customize the Enrollment Message in Microsoft Exchange Server 2000

Use the following steps to customize the enrollment message in Exchange Server 2000:
  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, click Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. In the Console tree, click Advanced Security. If this option is not available in the Console tree, KMS has not been installed.
  3. In the Details pane, right-click Key Manager, and then click Properties.
  4. In Key Management Service Login, type your password, and then click OK. NOTE: Although the default password is password, server administrators have the option to change this password.

You are required to re-type your password each time that you try to perform a task or click a tab in the Key Manager Properties dialog box.

  5. In Key Management Properties, click the Enrollment tab, click to select the Send Token in an E-mail check box, and then click Customize Message.
  6. Click OK when you have finished altering or composing your message, or click Default Settings to return to the original message and erase your changes.
