SYMPTOMS

When you try to use a FireWire drive while Outlook 2001 for Mac is open, the FireWire device may not appear on your desktop.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the FireWire device firmware may be out of date.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, obtain and install the most recent firmware and drivers for the FireWire device. To do this, contact the hardware vendor for the device and update your device firmware. In addition, verify that the most recent software drivers that match the firmware are installed.
