Possible Causes and Solutions

Object not available: The host file has been renamed or deleted, or it is being used or locked by another application. Check to see if the file exists at %WINDIR%\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts. Make sure that the file can be written to.

No permissions: The access permissions have been changed on the file or object.
