OL2002: Outlook Today Does Not Appear When Selected (288287)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Outlook 2002

This article was previously published under Q288287

SYMPTOMS

When you click Outlook Today in Outlook 2002, the Outlook Today Web page does not appear.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs as a result of the Outlook 2002 option for associating Web views with folders. Because Outlook Today is a Web page built by the Outlwvw.dll file, you may not see the Outlook Today page when the Web view is turned off.

Also, if you have disabled the Show home page by default for this folder option, Outlook Today does not appear in the view area.

RESOLUTION

Use the following steps to resolve this behavior:
  1. On the View menu, click the Folder List.
  2. In the Folder List, right-click the Outlook Today folder, and then click Properties.
  3. In the Mailbox Properties dialog box, click the Home Page tab.
  4. Click Show home page by default for this folder, and then click OK.

MORE INFORMATION

If the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) to the Home Page has been changed, you can use the Restore Default button to bring back the default setting. To do this:
  1. On the View menu, click the Folder List.
  2. In the Folder List, right-click the Outlook Today folder, and then click Properties.
  3. In the Mailbox Properties dialog box, click the Home Page tab.
  4. Click Restore Defaults to restore the default Outlook Today Home Page.
