OL2002: Word E-mail Font Settings Are Not Transferred When You Upgrade from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002 (287893)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor in Outlook 2000, you can customize your font settings by opening a new message in the Word editor, clicking Options on the Tools menu, clicking E-mail Options on the General tab, and then clicking Font on the Personal Stationary tab.

If you upgrade from Microsoft Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002 and continue to use Word as your e-mail editor, your previous font customizations are not transferred.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, re-apply your desired font formatting after you upgrade from Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2002.
  1. Open a new message with Word as your e-mail editor.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. On the General tab, click E-Mail Options.
  4. Click the Personal Stationary tab, and then click the Font button to customize your font.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
