OL2002: The 'Other User's folder' Menu Item Is Enabled When You Work Offline (287826)

SYMPTOMS

When you work offline, the Open, Other User's Folder option on the File menu is still available. When you click the Open, Other User's Folder option, enter a username, and then click a folder, the following error message may occur:
Unable to display the folder. You do not have sufficient permissions to open the 'foldername' folder.

WORKAROUND

Use the following steps to work around this behavior:
  1. Exit Outlook.
  2. Open Outlook.
  3. Click Connect to work online.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
