OL2002: Auto Complete Includes a Five Digit Number in Brackets after the Recipient Name (287792)

SYMPTOMS

When you type a name that has been cached from the Global Address List (GAL) of a Microsoft Exchange Server in the To field of a message, the Auto Complete tip includes a five letter number in brackets after the recipient name.

WORKAROUND

Currently, there is not an available work around for this problem, but this issue only affects the Auto Complete Interface, and does not appear to cause any problems with normal e-mail functionality.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
