Money 2001: Error Message: Your Statement Contained a Default Currency... (287749)

SYMPTOMS

When you download an online statement and attempt to import it into an account, you may receive the following error message:
File Import

Your statement contained a default currency (xxx) which was unrelated to the currency of the account 'account name'. Money does not support statements containing unrelated default currencies.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because you cannot import a statement that uses a different currency from the default currency of the account into which you are importing.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, change the default currency of the account to match that of the statement. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Accounts & Bills menu, click Account List.
  2. Click the account into which you are trying to import your statement.
  3. In the left pane, click Change account details.
  4. In the Account currency list, click US dollar.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click Done.
  6. Import your statement again.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
