How to Modify the Delay Time for the SMS Connector (287599)

SUMMARY

This article describes how to modify the delay time that the Short Message Service (SMS) connector on a Mobile Information Server Carrier Edition computer uses when it attempts to resend a message to the Short Message Service Center (SMSC) after the initial attempt is unsuccessful.

By default, the SMS connector tries to resend the message after 15 seconds. To change this value:
  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
  2. Locate the following key in the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS Connector

  3. Click the DelayBetweenConnectAttempts value, click Modify on the Edit menu, and then enter a new value.

    NOTE: The value is in milliseconds (ms). The minimum value for the retry delay is 1000ms (1 second).
  4. Quit Registry Editor.
