XL2000: You Receicve an Application Error When You Scroll Horizontally with a Touch Pad in Print Preview (287526)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to scroll horizontally with a touch pad while in Print Preview in Excel 2000, you receive an application error, and Excel 2000 quits.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when the horizontal scroll bar is not visible on the screen in the print preview mode. Excel 2000 cannot accept the horizontal scroll command from the touch pad because scrolling is not available in the user interface.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The Japenese version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP-3).
