Document Shortcut Is Not Uploaded to Dashboard Site (287202)

SYMPTOMS

When you upload a document shortcut in the dashboard site, it uploads the document that the shortcut points to instead of the document shortcut itself. In addition, when you upload a shortcut to a Web site URL, you may receive the following error message:
The above file name is invalid.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because the Internet browser opens the shortcut target by design. For Web site shortcuts, the browser attempts to validate the URL; however, certain Web sites refuse the request, and you receive the error message described in the preceding section.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, copy both types of shortcuts to the workspace by using Web folders.
