Cannot Write to a LS-120 Super Disk Drive (287163)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to write data to an LS-120 drive, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot copy file to disk, the disk may be full or write-protected.
This message occurs even if the drive is not full or not write-protected.

You may receive this message when you try to write data to a Super Disk or to a standard 1.44 floppy disk in the LS-120 drive.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the Pgrmcvsd.vxd file is loading from the C:\Windows\System\Iosubsys folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact LS-120 Super Disk Support for information about this file or the correct procedures for disabling this driver in Windows. WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, rename the Pgrmcvsd.vxd file:
  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type pgrmcvsd.vxd, in the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.
  3. Right-click the file, and then click Rename.
  4. Rename the file to "pgrmcvsd.dxv", close the Find window, and then restart your computer.

MORE INFORMATION

The file Pgrmcvsd.vxd is the file for the Pg Soft LS120 Superdisk Accelerator; it is not required for functionality of this device in Windows 98.
