XL2002: "Save Any Additional Hidden Data" Web Option Does Not Function as Expected (287077)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel 2002

This article was previously published under Q287077

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, when you click to clear the Save any additional hidden data necessary to maintain formulas check box (on the General tab in the Web Options dialog box), and then you save a worksheet as a Web page, the references that a formula uses unexpectedly remain in the Web page.

When you click to select the Save any additional hidden data necessary to maintain formulas check box, and then you publish selected cells to an interactive Web page, any cells that are referenced by the cells in the interactive Web page do not appear in the Web page as expected.

The Save any additional hidden data necessary to maintain formulas check box appears to have no function.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, publish all of the cells that contain any data or formulas to an interactive Web page when an Excel worksheet contains formulas that reference other cells.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
