SYMPTOMS

After you install and configure speech recognition, the Office Speech Training Video starts, but no video is displayed. A blue background appears in the Internet Explorer window and the sound portion of the video is heard.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when you are using Microsoft Windows 98 with Word 2002. The Office Speech Training Video requires a newer version of Shockwave Flash than is available in Windows 98.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, update Shockwave Flash Player to the latest version. To do this, click the following link to visit the Shockwave Web site and then follow the instructions to download and install the latest version of Flash Player.   1. On the Start menu, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  2. On the Name & Location tab, in the Named box, type Video.mht.
