SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0, clients may not be able to gain access to any Internet site, including the default Web site hosted on the Proxy Server computer.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when a network adapter on the Proxy Server computer has a default gateway configured to an invalid Internet Protocol (IP) address.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, clear the default gateway settings under TCP/IP Properties on the Proxy Server computer.
