Proxy Server May Fail Under Load when Running SurfWatch Filter (286400)

SYMPTOMS

If you are running a medium- to high-load Proxy Server, client connections may experience a high rate of failure. When you monitor the Proxy Server with Internet Information Server (IIS) Exception Monitor, you may see a large number of C++ Handled Exceptions.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if SurfControl's SurfWatch Internet Server API (ISAPI) filter Swmspfilter.dll is installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, remove the ISAPI filter Swmspfilter.dll.
