SYMPTOMS

When you start a computer running Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0, Event Viewer may record the following error message:

Event ID: 7024
Source: Service Control Manager
Description: Microsoft Winsock Proxy Service terminated with service-specific error 213003

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if a network adapter on the Proxy Server is not functioning correctly.

RESOLUTION

Make sure that both the internal and external network adapters on the Proxy Server are functioning correctly.
