FP2002: Text Containing Both English and Hebrew Is Displayed Incorrectly When You Apply DHTML (285656)

SYMPTOMS

When you apply dynamic Hypertext Markup Language (DHTML) effects to text that contains both English and Hebrew letters, the text does is not displayed correctly when you preview it in a Web browser. Some of the text may be displayed only partially, and other text may not be displayed at all.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the JavaScript that breaks up the text into words is having difficulty dividing the left-to-right (LTR) text from the right-to-left (RTL) text.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, add extra spaces between the English and the Hebrew text. You may need to add five or more spaces between the English and the Hebrew text in order to have the entire text appear correctly in the DHTML effect.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
