This article was previously published under Q285612

SYMPTOMS

You may be unable to add Apple QuickTime (.qt and .mov)-formatted movies to Microsoft Clip Organizer under the following scenarios:
  • When you try to manually add the files, the file name extensions *.mov and *.qt are not included in the list of supported motion clips in the Files of type box.
  • When you try to manually add the files by using Clip Organizer to browse and locate a .mov or .qt file, and then click Add, nothing happens, and the clip does not appear in the Favorites folder in Clip Organizer.
  • When you use Microsoft Windows Explorer to locate and select a .mov or .qt file, and then drag the file into the Favorites folder in Clip Organizer, you receive the following error message:
Clip Organizer does not support file type for file name
NOTE: This behavior occurs only when Clip Organizer is used with Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me).

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because Clip Organizer does not currently support the adding of .mov or .qt files when Clip Organizer is used with Windows Me.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
