PPT2002: Embedded Presentation Is Not Displayed as Expected in Narrated Slide Show (285403)

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, follow these steps:

1. Create the presentation (or presentations) that will later be embedded in the main presentation.
2. Record embedded narrations for all the presentations.
3. Embed the presentations into the main presentation.
4. Set the transitions in the main presentation to the embedded presentations to be triggered by a mouse click.

The following methods explain steps 2 and 4 in more detail.

Method 1: Recording Embedded Narration Sound Files

To record and embed a narration sound file in a presentation, follow these steps:

1. Start PowerPoint, and then open a presentation.
2. On the Slide Show menu, click Record Narration.
3. In the Record Narration dialog box, click to clear the Link Narrations in check box.
4. Record your narrations and save the timings for the narration.

Method 2: Setting Slide Transition to Mouse Click

To set the slide transition (from the main presentation to the embedded presentation) to a mouse click, follow these steps:

1. Start PowerPoint, and then open the main presentation.
2. On the View menu, click Slide Sorter.
3. In the Slide Sorter view, select the slide that has the embedded presentation by clicking once with the mouse.
4. On the Slide Show menu, click Slide Transition.
5. In the Slide Transition task pane, click to clear the Automatically after X check box, where X is the number of seconds that you set for the slide transition.
6. Click Apply.
7. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for any other slide that contains an embedded presentation.
