The Microsoft MSDN Web site contains a sample application that is designed to make it easy for someone to view other people's calendars in a single view. This application is provided as an example for developers, and was not specifically designed to be deployed in corporate environments without additional considerations.

The Team Calendar solution is an Outlook folder home page that uses the Outlook View Control, the Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) 1.2x object model, and other developer technologies. It combines the contents of multiple calendars into a single folder, and then allows you to view either the combined appointments or individual calendars.

The entire application is stored in a single Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) file. When you view it in a Web browser, the HTML file provides documentation for the application. When you view it as an Outlook folder home page, it renders the calendar and provides a user interface to configure the solution.

Support Provided for the Team Calendar Sample Application

The download page includes a discussion area at the bottom where you can post questions in a peer-to-peer forum. In accordance with the license agreement for the download, no technical support will be provided for the product. However, Microsoft Product Support Services does support the following in relation to this download:

• Assistance with installing the CDO object model on your computer. The sample application provides instructions for downloading and installing CDO, but CDO is also included with Microsoft Office 2000 and Microsoft Office XP. As the documentation indicates, the preferred method of installing CDO is to use Office Setup. If you are having problems manually installing CDO to get the application to work, you should try to install CDO using Office Setup. After you run Office Setup and see the list of available components, CDO is listed as an option under Outlook.
• Assistance with configuring delegate permissions. To view other people's calendars when you are using the Outlook Team Calendar sample application, the other people must configure Outlook so that you have at least "Reviewer" access to their calendars. To do this, they can right-click their default Calendar folder, click Properties, click the Permissions tab, and then set up the permissions appropriately. If you do not have adequate permissions to their calendar, the Outlook Team Calendar does not give you an error message; instead, it shows you a blank calendar for that person and does not include their appointments in the team calendar.
  
  If you are having a problem with the Team Calendar sample application that is related to permissions, try to access the other person's calendar without using the sample application.
