PUB2002: Text Is Inverted When You Copy and Paste Pyramid Diagram (285125)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q285125 SYMPTOMS
When you copy a Pyramid diagram from Microsoft Word 2002, Microsoft Excel 2002, or Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 and paste the diagram into Publisher 2002, each shape that has text typed into it displays that text upside down.
CAUSE
The Pyramid diagram uses the trapezoid AutoShape with the vertical text flip property turned on. Publisher does not recognize this property when you paste the Pyramid diagram, and Publisher inverts the text within the shape to match the shape's orientation.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, paste the diagram into the publication page as a picture. After you copy the Pyramid diagram from PowerPoint, Word, or Excel, follow these steps to paste it into Publisher unchanged:
- On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
- On the Paste Special As list, click Picture (Enhanced Metafile).
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
