SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open a picture in one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, the program may quit unexpectedly.

You may receive the following error message:
Pip caused an error in kernel32.dll.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Kodak DC265 digital camera software is installed on your computer, and the Camera Mounter options are turned on.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue:
  1. Uninstall the Kodak software.
  2. Reinstall the Kodak software.NOTE: When you reinstall the Kodak software, click to clear the Camera Mounter check box during the installation.

    The following check boxes should be selected during the installation:

    • Camera Properties
    • Digital Access
